Hello Homegrown Yogis!

You’ve probably seen this image before – by stepping out of your comfort zone, you step into the magic of your life.  But how often do we really practice this?  At least in my own life, not often.  I have my daily routine and feel a sense of security and certainty in it.  I do not think there is anything ‘bad’ or ‘wrong’ about being in my comfort zone.  BUT… when I painted for the first time since elementary school last week, I realized what was so amazingly ‘good’ and’ right’ about stepping out of my comfort zone.

I have always said, ‘I’m not artistic.’ I opted out of all art electives in school and have moments of panic when I think about who is going to help my daughter with all her artsy school projects.  So leading up to our first painting + yoga class at Lush Art last week, I was feeling some serious out-of-my-comfort-zone anxiety.   What actually happened, though, was truly magical.  First off, I had fun – like lots of fun.  Like can’t wait to do it again fun!  I also felt proud of myself for doing something that was so outside of my daily routine.  I felt excited and creative – not just during the class and about painting.  The experience made me excited and creative about my business, my teaching and my life.   It’s true – by stepping out of my comfort zone, I found new magic in my life.

This month I challenge you to see what magic you can find by stepping out of your comfort zone.  Better yet, we are giving you incentive to do it! Try out a yoga class that you have never attended before and share your experience on our facebook page to be entered into a raffle to win one of our new Homegrown Yoga tanks!

You can try one of our special offerings in May:  Starting Wednesday, May 4th at 8pm, Brittany Chester is leading a special 6 week series we are calling Bend + Burn.   Combining Power Yoga, cardio and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Bend + Burn gives you the best of hitting the gym and hitting the mat.  Already a Power Yoga regular?  Slow it down on Friday, May 13th for our monthly Feel Good Friday class at 7pm.  This 90 minute Restorative Yoga practice is the perfect way to unwind at the end of a week.  Or try one of our regularly scheduled classes that you have always thought just wasn’t your style.

By stepping out of your comfort, you give yourself an opportunity to step into your greatness.  We can’t wait to hear about it!

With love,

Rachel
